Mad Old Mondays

Remember this song?

Earth Angel, The Penguins, 1954

If you do, you're either mad old, or saw Back to the Future. Or that one episode of Family Guy.

Peace of Mind, Boston, 1976

Ooo, just came up with a new 'segment' idea: my favorite lyrics from the song I post, every friday! Just in case you couldn't figure it out from the title...

-------------------------------------
Friday's Favorite Lyrics:

People livin' in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind.

Now you're climbin' to the top of the company ladder
Hope it doesn't take too long
Can't cha see there'll come a day when it won't matter
Come a day when you'll be gone
-------------------------------------

So. True.
Especially since one day I hope to be at the top of that ladder...

If you think about it, what would a lifetime of work give to you? What would it mean? Basically, not much, besides the fact that you worked yourself to death. So might as well enjoy yourself, because you only live once.

Which brings me to another point.

It really pisses me off when people tell you you're going to die. Well thank you, Captain Obvious, because unless I'm Tuck-Freakin-Everlasting, we are all going to die. Whether I bring it about a few years earlier by enjoying my nice summer tan or drinking too may diet sodas, I could care less. You know why? Because at least I lived a little. And who is going to care about what you did? No one, unless you were the first black president (which, unfortunately, has already been claimed) or invented the widely used flying car (this will be claimed by yours truly).

So, no one will care. And what will happen 100, 200, or a few billion years after you died? Oh, sure, the sun will turn into a red giant, engulfing the earth and other surrounding planets, then explode, obliterating the solar system as it stands, but probably not turning into a black hole. Oy, not to put a damper on your mood or anything...:D

Please, for my sake, our sun's sake, and a tribute to Boston:
Enjoy. Do something crazy. Listen to Peace of Mind again. Read my blog. Ojala and Adios.

White Room, Cream, 1968

Way too tired to write a full post. Ever since I've been at my cousin's, (for almost a week now, although it seems like, way, totally, longer, like), I'm pretty much in bed by 10. Kids are soooo cute, but they tire me out like an old woman. Oy.

Anyways, enjoy Cream. Always gave me the craving for a creamsicle. Nom nom nom......

Life is unfair.

Apparently the CSN Darien Lake concert has been sold out. For a while. And all this time I thought ticketmaster.com was just being retarded.

I will do ANYTHING for a ticket.

Ok, maybe not anything, but you get the goddamn point.

How in the world was the KISS concert still selling tickets when hum-drum Tom Petty featuring CSN already sold out? Answer THAT riddle, my friends. Actually, I guess it's pretty simple...Central New York has awesome taste in music. I'm not saying KISS isn't a good band either, it's just I like CSN and sometimes Y way better...they've got that smooth classic rock sound. Straight from the early 70's. *sigh*

Well, all is not lost since strangely enough, CSN & Y seem to be on a pretty busy tour schedule...all I'm saying is they better not kick the bucket before I get to see them perform live, like someone we all know *COUGH* mj *COUGH*.

Enough gab...here's the SOD (song of the day, I just thought of it, if you don't like it, well, tough luck):

That's All, Genesis, 1983

I heard this song a couple weeks back, and I could not remember the name of it for the life of me, so naturally, I remembered some lyrics to Google when I got home. But, per usual, I forgot them, so I spent about an hour on songtapper.com trying to figure it out. The most meaningful song that came out of that was Jingle Bells. Fail. I thought the search was over for good until the song would pop up again sometime throughout the course of my life.

The next day it was on the radio.

Maybe life is fair...

...but I still want those tickets.

i just want your extra time and your

kiss!

I came across this song whilst shuffling through iTunes, and until then, I forgot how awesome it is. So act your age, not your shoe size, and respect the classic sounds of the 80's.

Kiss, Prince, 1986

cash rules everything around me

Oh hey again, hope y'all had a great 4th.'

This particular song isn't too old, but, in recent terms, it's..."old".

For some reason, it's one of those songs that you never really get tired of.
