Oops. Haven't posted in almost...two months. I guess the excitement of summer, classes ending, going home and not having internet really got to me.
Moving on, I have recently become obsessed with 70's music. Aka disco. I'm sorry, it is just way more awesome than the crap that's playing today. Has anyone else noticed how synthesizers have slowly crept into basically every recent song? Why can't they just stay in their own techno/trance genre where they belong!
Of course, I was excited at first, because I thought the trance and electronic genres were becoming more popular. Nope! Most songs are just sad imitations of the real thing. Like juice from concentrate. For example, you pretty much never hear a singer's real voice. And when you do, you are gonna wish ya brought a pair of earplugs to the concert you paid $200 for. A word of advice: never listen to kesha live.
So, here is Diana Ross to save the day:

Flutes from the Andes
Today is my last night in Pittsburgh before I go home for the summer...so I thought I would post about a song that's a little different from the norm. Strangely enough, I came across this CD one night, and thought it had pretty catchy tunes. Lately I've found myself whistling to it...
Lima Morena, by Los Calchakis, Flutes de Pan de Andes, 1985

To celebrate officially being done with this semester, I suppose I'll post today. Especially since it's almost been a week since my last post. oops.
Per request, from the era of boy-bands,
Too Close - Next, Rated Next, 1998
A one-hit wonder, but who cares, it's a good song.

never really understood what the meaning of this song is...but it does have a pretty catchy tune...
sex and candy, marcy playground, 1997
Lately all of the music videos I've encountered have "embedding disabled by request".
So we'll have to settle for these lyric vids for a while. *sigh*

A Tribute to 420
I get by with a little help from my friends
I get high with a little help from my friends.
On love, of course. Or in my case, job applications.
Happy listening.

I don't really want to be the Queen
And carnival is officially over...time to snap back to reality, unfortunately.
This song played during the course of last night, thought I would remind you all of it.
Meet Virginia, Train, 1999
I'd love to stay and chat but I got work to do. Happy listening. :D
